CLIFTON PARK, NY (December 14, 2021) –  The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP®) is looking for some talented subject-matter experts (SMEs) who represent the field of Energy Storage and who currently work in the field to join NABCEP Energy Storage Technical Committee.  Members of the Energy Storage Technical Committee will work on creating the Job Task Analysis (JTA) for the new Energy Storage Certification Program. The JTA is a comprehensive list of all the measurable tasks that a practitioner performs and will guide the development of the PV Energy Storage Certification Exam.

Volunteers are essential to NABCEP’s effort to create and deliver a practical and respected professional certification program.  Volunteers are expected to work to help further NABCEP’s mission, “To support, and work with, the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries, professionals, and stakeholders to develop and implement quality credentialing and certification programs for practitioners.”

With support from a grant issued by the National Science Foundation, NABCEP, the CREATE Energy Center, and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) will be partnering to address the need for a commonly accepted standard of education, training, and certification for technicians working with batter energy storage systems technology.

If you are interested in joining the Energy Storage Technical Committee, please send a resume and letter of interest to Eric Filante at efilante@nabcep.org.
